SILK

Silk is a natural fiber, it is obtained from the silkworm and it is one of the most resistant and soft fibers. It is hypoallergenic and anti-mites, breathes naturally and prevents excessive heat.

Did you know that one silk cocoon can provide up to 1,500 meters of thread?

The Silk Road was a network of ancient trade routes, officially established during China’s Han Dynasty in 130 B.C., which connected all the different regions of that time.

LEATHER

It is sourced from different animals. It’s a biodegradable material with unique properties such as durability, the ability to age well, endurance and timelessness.

Leather craft is considered a tradition in our country and it’s a part of our culture, also being a very important industry for the country’s economy.

Leather was one of the first materials used in clothing. Mexico is among the 10 countries with the highest leather produc-tion in the world.

COTTON

This vegetable origin fiber, is obtained from a plant called cotton. It’s hypoallergenic, soft, antistatic and breathes naturally. It can be washed at home and is easy to iron.

In ancient Egypt, the use of cotton garments was for the exclusive use of priests and pharaohs, while in India it was the first textile to be produced.

RAYON / VISCOSE

RAYON / VISCOSE

Artificial fiber made from cellulose, trees and cotton pulp. Vegetable raw material, but chemically treated. It can replicate natural fibers such as: cotton, silk and wool.

This type of fabric was created in 1884 and its name was patented in 1924, referencing the rays of the sun shining onto the fabric. Rayon was the first manufactured fiber and is produced from a naturally occurring polymer (cellulose).

– Biodegradable
– Breathable
– Moth and mold repelent
– Antistatic
– Soft to the touch
– Ability to accept dye
– Good in humid and warm weather

TENCEL /
LYOCELL

Natural fabric and a type of sustainable rayon. Made from eucalyptus cellulose.

Its fibers originate from renewable wood raw material. That means they are biodegradable.

SPANDEX

Synthetic fiber also known as elastane, lycra or spandex. It is recognized for its great elasticity and resistance.

Spandex began developing during World War II. Discovered after chemists took up the challenge of developing synthetic substitutes for rubber, where this fiber originated.

attributes

– Fits well
– Does not absorb moisture
-Resistant
– Fade resistant

CUPRO

Cupro is an artificial cellulose fiber, made from cotton or cotton waste; with an almost organic composition and great durability.

China is the largest producer and exporter of cupro. Their cloth is often referred to as ammonia silk, and it is also produced in large amounts in Japan. Cupro is biodegradable because it is made entirely of plant-based materials. It has even been called an eco-friendly viscose alternative.

attributes

– Biodegradable
– Breathable
– Regulates body temperature
– Light and soft to the touch
– Highly durable
– Fade resistant
– Suitable for sensitive skin types
